Run from another Shortcut

Just pass the name of the Shortcut running it, and it will use the name in the menus, and return the selected icon to the Shortcut calling it rather than showing the file/photos/Base64 option.

This is really nice and a fantastic implementation of contact list menus. Might have to implement some similar ideas into my ChromaKey shortcut

Cant wait to see it, I dont need it, but I just realised you can add other variables eg hex/rgb values/css name into the phone/address fields and pull them out quite easily from the selected item. Might be useful.

I tried setting a hex value but only the numeric keyboard is available for input? I'm probably missing something obvious, but you need alphanumeric characters for hex values, surely? Well done - damn some people are clever

Sorry does seem to be an error, possibly due to the update today. Hope you'll forgive me for waiting till tomorrow to looking further into as have a few things on tonight, it being NYE and all. Maybe rollback to an earlier version in the meantime. Happy New Year.

Hey! A really nice feature for custom contact lists would be an option for a transparent background! To do that you would only need to get the icon with a black background and white foreground and then use this black-white image as the alpha mask in the _Mask Image_ action on the real icon. The dark parts of the mask set the opacity to 0 and the bright set it to 255

Hi, thanks. I'll have a look at/think about this, sounds good, but not sure it how it works for colour icons and this is more a general icon tool than a contact list icon tool. Menu builder already has all the fa solid icons available as bw transparent pngs selectable from a b64 zip, (although I wish I'd made them system blue).

Thanks but I still need to have a look/think about it it's not the method I have to think about it's how it sits in the wider Shortcut. For example how does the user choose transparent, background is the obvious place but causes a few issues, how does it deal with white icons, no use for contacts but Shortcut does other types of icons.

The if .. else means no icon previews are generated, and the masking needs a preview icon so it would mean icon couldnt be changed once transparency set. Pretty sure I know which way I'd resolve most of these, but still just want to think about it for a bit. Thanks again.

and Id have to handle the 2 x color menus differently, I'm really not sure if I want to do much more without a complete rewrite to modules, its something that started small and just got too big and showy as I used it to try different things out. Anyway have added overlays method to menu builder in the meantime.

It's only some people it's not working for, I'm on dev beta 2 and although I got the error to begin with it works for me. There's nothing to suggest it's restricted to certain countries as far as I know.

I am also the developer version of the installation, but at present, none of the known installations can call the iCloud file, but can only browse it manually. Maybe this is a special care.

Well yours has a better processor and the same amount of RAM so that wont be the issue. Im on 13.2 as well, btw. Only thing I can suggest is trying after a restart.

Thanks Unfortunately there is a bug in shortcuts 13.2.x versions so far that flips the icon, and fixing it would break it for people on earlier versions of iOS

You can try this https://www.icloud.com/shortcuts/70fef82e6fca45bfa699b128041f4b09 It will still freeze, but it may freeze for shorter periods of time. I have seen freezes recover, after 30/60 secs Occasionally. What hardware are you using?

The bug was that the shortcuts app froze, then force exited. I tried multiple times, and finally, it let me scroll to the bottom of the script and add “untrusted shortcut”
