I suggest adding LightningUpdate so your users always have latest version of your shortcut: https://routinehub.co/shortcut/2826
(LightningUpdate is the FASTEST updater on RoutineHub)

Hi daidardi, it’s used to rename a bunch of files at once. Not a lot of people have a need for such a shortcut.
It works like this:
1. You input some files directly or choose files when running the shortcut.
2. You then set a scheme, the dialog is pretty self descriptive.
3. You then set the order of renaming; alphabetically or based on the creation date
4. You see a preview of your new files names
5. You get to save the renames files somewhere
That’s it :)

This is great, I’ve been searching for an ios batch renamer forever. Is there a way for me to use this to prepend text to multiple file names, or replace text in a name with something else?

Hi asentientai, you can prepend by using the $current key in your renaming scheme. Replacing text isn’t something I had thought about and therefore isn’t available.. maybe I’ll add replacing once I update it for use in iOS 13, since I’m pretty sure it doesn’t currently work. Have a nice day!

Works great for renaming camera photo files to the date taken. A couple of questions
- is "date created" the same as "date taken"? Looks like it.
- I want to set the date/time format to 2019-05-15 14-05-24.jpg. I can't work out how to do hours and seconds with your date format. The closest I've got is yyyy-MM-dd hh-mm-ss, but the hour is wrong

Hi @glc1972! The correct format would be “yyyy-MM-dd HH-mm-ss” :) I just replaced ‘hh’ with ‘HH’ as that’s the notation used for 24h format. Hope that works! You can also add your custom date format to the shortcut if you use it often, in that case open the shortcut, find the menu that has the date options and either replace or add your custom one to the list! :) Have a nice day!
