This shortcut was born out of an experiment. I wanted to see if I could get a shortcut to calculate actual sales tax for any Zip Code. I was able to get this to work thanks to an API from Avalara.
Only works in the United States
Upon setting up, you’ll be prompted to create an AvaTax account on Avalara’s website

Unfortunately, TaxJar appears to no longer offers a free account option. As a result, I was forced to find a new API to build this shortcut around. After much digging and research, it seems the best option is Avalara’s AvaTax API. This new version is built entirely around this new platform, and as such will require you to set up a new account.
