Easy Folder
Folders for your shortcuts!
Description
This shortcut acts as a folder, and you can add shortcuts into the folder by just clicking ‘•••’, pressing ‘Add’, and selecting any shortcut.
If you want to have multiple folders, you need to have a different “internal folder name” for each one.
To change the internal folder name:
Go into the folder’s actions, click the settings button in the top, then click “Customize Shortcut...”
Latest Release Notes
1.2+ - June 30, 2020, 10:02 a.m.
Version 1.2+ is a supplementary version for iOS 13 users of Easy Folder. The last update, 1.3, had many bugs and was unpolished. Due to this error, I've decided to update version 1.2 to work better on iOS 13, and delete version 1.3. Sorry for the inconvenience.

@djtiek
Fabulous idea. Can you duplicate this multiple times and create new folders?

Yup. Just remember to change the internal folder name for each folder.

Like it. Only request would be a way to reorder the list. Keep it up.

Version 1.2 is out! Now you can reorder the list freely and easily!

Love the concept, but it needs some refinement. My main issue is that Easy Folder crashes (i.e., fails to display the added shortcuts) sometimes when trying to run it from the Shortcuts widget.

I think the latest update could’ve fixed that. The problem was that Easy Folder used to scan your Shortcuts library three times at minimum. Now it only does once.

@dastefster
Sadly, it did not fix the issue :[ In fact, it seems to have gotten worse! Now EVERY time I try running Easy Folder from the widget it crashes..
is it possible the number of shortcuts in my library is exceeding the amount of data that Easy Folder can (reliably) process given the limited amount of RAM it can utilize from the widget vs running it in the Shortcuts app?

That’s probably what it is, yeah.
Either way, it’s probably the shortcuts widget’s fault. It’s not the most stable thing in the world.
I don’t know if I can fix that really. Sorry.

Try do add the "Continue Shortcut in App" action at the top. This should fix it.

I would, but a lot of the appeal from this shortcut is running it on the widget. I'd rather find a solution that requires less data.

You're right about that, of course. If you want the shortcut to work as a widget, it's not that easy. Good luck!

The shortcut runs wayyyy more reliably in the widget on iOS 13. I recommend updating to it, and using the shortcut. That would greatly improve the experience.

Wow, great, impressive work!
One question: I am getting an error when clicking the "Back" option from the internal edit menu; inspecting the code, the clause under "<Back" has the Run shortcut action with the value of the "Folder Name" variable as the shortcut name. That variable though holds the name of my internal folder file -- a text file with the shortcuts names, not a shortcut that can be ran. Is it intended to be a recursive call to restart with a modified internal folder file? Thanks!

It’s supposed to rerun the shortcut, so you’ll go back to the main menu. I assumed people changed the internal folder name to the name of the shortcut.
If you want it to work, call your internal shortcut name the same as your shortcut name.

Ok, so just to be clear, you assumed that the users will change the shortcut name to be the same as the name of the internal file they choose (or alternatively choose "Easy Folder" as that file name). If so, just a suggestion: the current import text says "That would not change your shortcut name" --- I'd change it to something like "you'll need to change the shortcut name to be the same as the internal folder name you specify". Thanks.

It’s alright. I think by next update, I’ll find a way to make internal folder names obsolete. Thanks for your feedback! It really helps.

Thank you. As an aside, I’m thinking of piggybacking on your code to create a similar shortcut but for app launching via their URL scheme, assuming you know it; it’s not too difficult to find out if you have the right MacOS app to find the IPA).
In any case a trivial modification of your script can save the pair of app to url scheme in the text file (dictionary, csv, etc)as a dictionary or csv), and create custom dynamic folders for apps, etc. just a thought, need to find time for it though..

That sounds super cool! I love the new stuff you can do with URL schemes in iOS 13. Although, if you're just modifying my code, please credit me. Thanks.

No worries, _if_ I ever get to it and put it out, I'll definitely say that this is based/extends your EasyFolder code. In fact, I may even outline the main changes so people can blame you for some of the bugs :) Seriously, though, there is a long list of shortcuts I'd like to write and so little time, so I doubt I'll get to it. Who knows.
BTW, you may know this but there is a URL scheme to invoke any of your shortcuts: https://support.apple.com/en-za/guide/shortcuts/apdcd7f20a6f/ios

Uhhhhh ok that’s a problem...
My best recommendation at this point is to download the previous version... But just so I can understand the problem and apply a fix, please tell me what you see in the Folder Data folder in iCloud Drive(it’s under the shortcuts folder).
