Offload Shortcuts Beta 1

An Offloader for unused shortcuts clutter that you want to preserve “just in case”.

Description

Offload Shortcuts Beta 1

  • For those who love shortcuts, who collect examples and ideas for future development, who fear deleting shortcuts for fear of never finding them again among the backups, this shortcut was designed for us.
  • It is a Shortcut Offloader that is separate from your backup system for all of your shortcuts.
  • It creates folders in iCloud that are clearly marked for Offloaded Shortcuts not your general backups. You select the shortcuts to Offload and the Offloader saves the .shortcut files in a .zip in a dated folder. It generates a set of useful Lists of your Offloaded Shortcuts with Links and *Creates a New Note in Apple Notes and Bear (but you can customize this).
  • Finally, it prompts you to now safely delete the shortcuts from your device and helps you by also providing a list of just the Names of the shortcuts you just Offloaded to delete (in Bear it is a checklist).

Suggested Apps:

* Requires Apple Notes
* Requires Bear (but can be changed by the user manually)

Creation of dated subfolders for the current session.

  • Offloaded_SC/
  • Offloaded_SC/Offloaded_SC_Files/
  • Offloaded_SC/Offloaded_SC_Links
  • Offloaded_SC/Offloaded_SC_Files/date/
  • Offloaded_SC/Offloaded_SC_Links/date/
Author's Comment:
  • This shortcut aims to be a systematic offloading system separate from backups to free clutter in the Shortcuts App and Create links and Archives of Offloaded shortcuts with a searchable links list in Bear and Notes.
  • It also produces a list of shortcuts offloaded to delete from your app.
  • Your offloaded shortcuts will be available whenever you need them using this system.
  • Redundancy and a degree of obsessiveness are included and this is intentional. -The Bear and Notes link lists ensure no data is lost and importantly that your offloaded shortcuts are where they should be.
  • A "To Delete" list is generated in Bear (appears as checklist) and Notes to ensure you delete offloaded shortcuts from your app separate from the links list (Keep the links list, delete the "to delete" lists).
  • Quality and Reliability of the Offloading System is a priority over new features
  • Feedback welcome
  • Hope that fellow shortcuts hoarders can benefit.
