Import ICal File

Import an iCal (.ics) file to your calendar

Description

I often use a browser other than Safari like Google Chrome. If there is a link to an ical .ics file I want to get it into my calendar, I am stuck. Not anymore.

This shortcut can be used two ways:

  1. Copy the link to the .ics file in a browser and run the shortcut.
  2. Save an .ics file to your device and run the shortcut. You will be able to choose the .ics file.

Either way, you will see any calendar events in the ics file before they are added to your calendar.

You can also save an .ics from a mail client or other app that doesn’t suooport .ics to get it into your calendar.

Note, either way, the .ics File can have one or more calendar events in it.

Info

This shortcut includes Embed-a-Update, so it requires no external shortcuts or resources like UpdateKit. Embed-a-Update is also very fast. Enjoy.

If this Shortcut doesn’t work as expected, you have suggestions, or an idea to improve it, let me know!
